About Us
Passion and professionalism.  This pretty much describes us. We support our students in their growth process to become their best selves. Our instructor is certified, dynamic and experienced.  We are located conveniently in Calgary, Alberta, and also in High River. Our Krav Maga classes run on a rotating curriculum, allowing students at every level to learn effectively in less time then in a larger class with divided groups.  Work out pent up stress after a long day at work.  We are here for you.

Our classes are high energy, fun, practical and highly effective for learning Krav Maga.  Experience Krav Maga training from one of the most uplifting instructors in Alberta. Take advantage of our adult classes.  We also offer small group adult lessons.  Learn at your own pace with private self defence classes. Corporate classes are available upon request. What is Krav Maga?

In short, Krav Maga is the Israeli self-defence system, and is currently taught all over the world to military and law enforcement. Imi Lichtenfeld began laying the foundation for what would later become Krav Maga in his hometown of Bratislava, Czechoslovakia. Tired of being persecuted by fascists and Nazis, he developed a system of self defense. Imi escaped the tyranny when he took the last ship to Israel.  He was recruited by the Israeli military to teach the fighting tactics he had developed. After retiring, he modified his system for civilians, and Krav Maga still continues to evolve and grow to suit the needs of today's conflicts. 

Adult Lessons

​People of all sizes and fitness levels are welcome at Calgary Krav Maga.  Learn Krav Maga techniques from a certified instructor and avid practitioner.  In life, we may be faced with the decision at some point to fight for our safety of the safety of our loved ones.  At Calgary Krav Maga, you will learn to avoid confrontation and de-escalate potential threats.  But when you are unable to escape from a situation, the techniques you will learn in Krav Maga can save you and your family from becoming victims of violence.

Private Lessons

There’s work, the kids, the dogs, your parents, siblings and friends that require your undivided attention.  We totally get it.  But that doesn’t mean you have an excuse to put your needs on the sidelines.  Calgary Shalom Krav Maga will come to you on your terms.  Book a private lesson for you or your family.  If you prefer working out in a large studio space, we’ll reserve a place for you.  Does your workplace have a gym?  Okay, we’ll meet you there!

We strive to build peacemakers and train in deescalating and situational awareness, while effectively preparing students to face those who aren't willing to be so peaceful.
